How do I manage my plants when they arrive?
And first steps in cultivation
For pre-germination
Store in a light, frost-free rack for around 2 months, depending on ambient temperature.
>> Go straight to the planting stage.
For planting within 10-15 days
Place in paloxes, trailers, on the ground... in a well-ventilated, frost-free area. Do not leave plants in big bags or bags.
For planting in more than 10-15 days
Store in cold room at 6/8°C.
>> Then follow step B.
Objective: white dot stage
= 1 or 2 mm of sprouts maximum.
Above all, do not allow
germination.
Minimum temperature 10°C
and maximum depth 10 cm
recommended during planting.
Cover with a small quantity
of soil for rapid emergence
and to prevent attacks from rhizoctonia.
Itherwise, use a harrow within 8 days
to reduce the volume of soil. Then every week until 10/15 cm of vegetation height. At 20/25 cm, carry out the final hilling (pre hilling possible).
What happens if I have not reached this stage or if I have not followed these recommendations?
Sometimes, nothing. But often, if the plant is not warmed up enough or has germinated too much, and the weather conditions are not favourable, you'll have slow or uneven emergence, or even plants that rot (remember: they're alive!). The care you take with these first steps will be decisive for the rest!
